Spring has arrived and it has a totally different message than winter!  Can you see the change in nature’s energy? Can you feel it? Immersing yourself in nature helps you gain the perspective and vibration of spring: the colors, the smells, the sounds of the birds and the breeze. Becoming more attuned to the frequency of all thing spring will provide new possibilites to your life and assist you in feeling more balanced during this part of the year!

Traditional Chinese Medicine places a lot of emphasis on the seasons and what it means for us as humans in the Five Element framework.  Embracing this knowledge helps us to go with the flow and form a bond with Mother Earth.  Trusting in the Universe/God and following the cues from nature will bring strength and resilence to our bodies, ebbing and flowing without resistance. For example, just as a tree is beginning to produce leaf buds or for us Floridians as the oaks are dropping their pollen, the energy that drives that is serendipitous and created in perfect timing to when nature sees fit. No push or pull, just an organic process.

For us, feeling that bubbling sense of excitement or new energy for an idea or project that maybe was planted during the winter but not yet put into motion is compliments of the frequency of spring.  Feeling the desire to be more social, creative and active are also ways to naturally lean into spring energy.

Qi in the Liver meridian, while it is strongly and excitedly moving, must be balanced by the qi and the Gall Bladder meridian which reminds us to find the inner peace, qi of the Stomach and Spleen meridians which nurtures us, and qi of the Lung and Large Instine meridians which helps us to let go of things that no longer serve us. Wearing colors of the green family and enjoying lemon in your room temperature water are ways to support the Liver and Gall Bladder meridian functions during spring.  Eating foods that are green, pickled or slightly on the sweeter side also support the Liver function.

Living seasonally not only connects us to the specific frequency of that season in the macrocosm but also connects us to micorcosm of each other.
